This Friday, Jan. 24 from 7-10 p.m. at Sportszone, TJC art students and faculty will be holding a silent auction benefitting Joe French who was shot in Honduras over winter break.
French is a former TJC art student and was teaching in Puerto Cortes, Honduras when he was shot while walking home.
The silent auction will be restricted to ages 21 and over, however those under 21 can bid online at www.etsy.com/shop/ArtforFrench.
The school’s art club has already donated $1,000 and raised an additional $150 in order to help pay the immense cost of hospitalization and medical transportation back to the United States.
If you would like to donate a piece of art to the auction, please contact ArtforFrench@gmail.com
It’s sobering to read this, yet very eye opening and inspiring to know that the art students are rallying around Joe French. Will their be more than just canvas pieces at the auction?
This is very sad that this happened, yet very exciting to see the Art Club rallying to help out in such a huge way.
