Every year, Student Senate hold elections through OrgSync at the beginning of September to elect the new officers for the school year. This year elections were held Sep. 15-16. The newly elected officers were sworn into office at the general meeting through Zoom on Sep. 22. One of the elected officers for the 2020-21 year is Kaden Phinney.

Kaden Phinney was elected as Executive President of Student Senate. As Executive President, Phinney’s responsibility is to lead meetings and the executive board. Last year, he served as Freshman Secretary for the Student Senate.

This is Phinney’s second year in Student Senate and also his second year holding an officer position. “I ran for this position because I love being a part of student senate and I believe I have what it takes to be a leader,” Phinney said.

He believes his position is most significant because everyone needs to have a leader. “I look forward to meeting new people and building new relationships while also making TJC a better campus,” Phinney said.

Along with his responsibilities, he also has goals he wants to accomplish in this position. “The number one thing I want to accomplish is to improve student life in a way that will be remembered,” Phinney said.

Below are the results for the Student Senate Officers for the 2020-21 year:
