A new company is headed to East Texas and it will bring a special training program to Tyler Junior College’s ever-growing West Campus.
In a press conference Thursday, officials from TJC and Tyler’s Economic Development Council announced N.E.W. Customer Service Companies, Inc. is expanding its operations to the Tyler area. The employees selected in Tyler will work with the company’s “virtual” national technical support for DirecTV. Officials said this program will create over 100 jobs in the next year and over 400 jobs over the next four years.
“We selected Tyler hands down because of the generous welcome and outstanding support provided by local leadership. Our extensive research indicated that Tyler is a good fit for our company due to the well-educated work force and the residents’ desire to work in the customer care field. We are excited to be a part of Tyler and offer this unique work environment to the community,” said NEW’s Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, Ray Zukowski.
The Virginia-based company is the nation’s leading provider of service and buyer protection plans for consumer products.
All of the jobs will be work from home positions and receive training from TJC’s West Campus.
“This ‘virtual’ technical support center will be a tremendous opportunity for individuals to work at home after receiving an intensive 6-week company-paid training program at our Tyler Junior College West Campus,” said Dr. Mike Metke, President, Tyler Junior College.
Company officials said interviews will start immediately and the first training session on TJC’s West Campus will be held in June.
