Letter to the editor: what comes next?

Dear Editor,

I’ve been thinking a lot of what I’m going to do after I graduate Tyler Junior College in the fall of 2016. Do I want to go to a four-year school? Do I want to continue to pursue my newfound passion? I’m the type of person who always has everything planned and as of late, things have taken an interesting turn.

This semester I’m finally over coming a lot of my anxiety and started building my own portfolio by working with Pow Wow TV and the newspaper. It has been a whirlwind of knowledge these past couple of weeks, as I try to hone in on my new passion that I’m trying to explore for a career.

The support of the TJC students have been nothing but wonderful. As previously stated, I’m a generally shy person so it’s nice to have others who share in your same passion for creating. The one thing I never regret doing is changing my major from English to Mass Communication. Since doing so, I have opened up endless possibilities to explore this passion.

I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t know where I plan on going after TJC or what I plan on doing with the career. A few years back this would have terrified me, not knowing the certainties. Now, I’m finding that it’s actually a new journey, a new way for me to discover who I want to be in this world. There are a lot of things I need to figure out and as I finish out these next few months at TJC, but I know that I am on the right path.
