The Tyler Junior College Apache ladies basketball team played their first game of the Region 14 Basketball Championships in Jacksonville.
At 6 p.m. on Wednesday March 4, the team took the court against the hometown Jacksonville Jaguars at the Jacksonville ISD Gym.
TJC got off to a fast start with a quick 12-4 lead after only five minutes of play. At halftime, they expanded their lead to 34-23 and added on to it with a final score of 73-60.
TJC had to wait for the Bossier Parish vs. Blinn game to end before they would know who they would play in the next round. Bossier Parish grabbed the overtime win over Blinn with a final score of 89-78.

Coming Up:
At 6 p.m. on Thursday March 5, the men’s basketball team will take on Trinity Valley and the women’s team will take the court against Bossier Parish Community College at 3 p.m. on Friday March 6, in the Jacksonville ISD Gym.
Jacksonville ISD Gym is located on the former Lon Morris Campus at 811 Farnsworth St. in Jacksonville. Tickets for the tournament are $3 for students with IDs.
