Alex Mejia – Freshman President
What
is your goal with this new position?
My
goal is to help students and to be the voice for the students here at TJC. I
care for 12,000 students and want to make an impact this year, and that all of
us together can grow in our leadership abilities by learning from each other.
What
do you plan on doing in the future with this position?
I
see myself making good social connections with the freshmen/sophomores here at
TJC and through hard work we can make a difference.
What
is the first thing you want to do?
I
would work hard to collaborate with the sophomore leadership and senators.
Juan
Mejia – Freshman Vice President
What
is your goal with this new position?
Even
though the vice president position sounds like a position that exists in the
shadows of the president, I wish to stand out and place ideas into actions with
the student senate officers for the students of Tyler Junior College.
What
do you plan on doing in the future with this position?
I
see myself being in tune with the ideas of the student body and turning those
ideas into reality with the power of being the freshman vice president.
What
is the first thing you want to do?
I want to make the student senate organization as relevant as possible. If we make students understand the potential of the student senate organization, that will open the door of opportunities a student will have on the campus — to be included, make friends, join clubs, volunteer etc.
Kaden
Phinney – Freshman Secretary
What
is your goal with this new position?
I
plan to make TJC a more fun place. I hope to be kind to everyone and make it to
where the student body can talk to me about anything.
What
do you plan on doing in the future with this position?
I
want to get better at communicating with people and meeting new people.
What
is the first thing you want to do?
The
first thing I want to input is the mental health issues around campus right
now. I think this is a very serious issue and I want to see us fix it in the
future.
