The Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival brought people in by the herds. Blocking off streets in downtown and taking up the whole square, tents were set up to hold some of the best barbecue Texas has to offer. VIP ticket holders were aloud to enter the gates one hour before everyone else, which was a good thing once the general ticket holders walked in.
The crowd seemed to multiply by the hundreds, cowboy boots and and Daisy Dukes was the attire that seemed to fit most of the women that attended, while the men seemed to have some very odd choices in clothing. Some wore the classic boots jeans and button up and others came in with a style all their own.
Clothing choices aside everyone was there for a good time, and they got it. In total there was 18 different barbecue joints from all over Texas. A small stage was set up to entertain the crowds until the MainStage opened up with the likes of The Bigsbys, Stoney Larue, Kyle Park, Uncle Lucius, and who can forget the Josh Abbott Band.
The festival sold out and there was over 4,000 people on hand to eat, drink and have a good ol’ Texas time.
