There was a two car accident at the corner of Mahon and Fifth just before noon. Tyler PD said that the accident was caused when a red chevy pickup ran a red light, causing the other vehicle to veer into a yard on the opposite side of the street. No injuries have been reported. EMTs are still on the scene.
The new stop light at Baxter and Fifth was intended alleviate the increase of wrecks the college has seen. However, this particular intersection, in front of the football field has seen more wrecks than most.
