The Astronomical Society of East Texas hosted a public ‘Star Party’ tonight at TJC’s state of the art CESSE observatory. The even was a resounding success with students and families turning out to learn about the East Texas sky.
All three showings in the domed theater were packed and over a dozen telescopes were set up outside, each pointed at different constellations and nebulae. Two offered incredible views of the near-full moon. Instructors and enthusiasts were on hand to educate everyone who came out.
