Making its public debut today The Art of the Brick exhibit opened to the public at the Tyler Museum of Art. The exhibit shows off the work of LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya. Sawaya left his job as a lawyer to pursue his love of creating unique sculptures entirely from LEGO. Having first discovered the toy, like many people do, as a child Sawaya built himself a LEGO city in the house he grew up in. Having asked his parents for a dog and being denied the request Sawaya took his LEGO city apart and reassembled it into his own dog. His exhibit shows the human form representing the metamorphosis in his own life. The Tyler Museum of Art is located at 1300 S. Mahon Ave. on the campus of Tyler Junior College.
