Tyler Police arrested TJC student Brianne Overstreet on Tuesday at approximately 4:32 p.m. for aggravated assault.
Officers received a report that a female had been stabbed at 4309 S. Broadway Ave. They arrived and located the victim, 22-year-old Letachia Hampton of Tyler.
Hampton told police she had been stabbed three times by 20-year-old Overstreet after a verbal altercation inside a nearby nail salon.
Witnesses said that Hampton left the store but was followed by Overstreet who then attacked Hampton with a small knife.
Officers located Overstreet in the parking lot and placed her under arrest for aggravated assault.
Hampton was transported to East Texas Medical Center with non life threatening injuries. Overstreet was booked into the Smith County Jail.
