Not only is Feb. 12th Darwin Day and Souper Valentines Bowl Day, but it will also be “MY TWO CENTS DAY!” This national event is to encourage college students to become aware of our nation’s ever-growing federal debt and what it means for their future. The “MY TWO CENTS DAY!” event will be held at the Rogers Student Center 2nd Floor, West Side between 9 a.m. & 5 p.m., to view the National Debt Clock and to enter their guess at what the amount will be at exactly 5 p.m. CST. Closest guess wins $100 (ties will be decided by a drawing of winning entries.)
Students can also sign the graffiti wall telling Congress their concerns, and participate in a Facebook pledge to get involved in building awareness and helping solve the problem. TJC will be competing against other major universities (like Yale) in student participation, come and learn something and take a chance to win $100.
