In a partnership between TJC and the City of Tyler, TJC students can ride free on the Tyler Transit System. According to the City of Tyler website, the typical adult fare is $1 per bus or $40 for a 30-day pass, making it a discount for students in need of public transport. A student ID with the current semester validation sticker is required to board the bus. If necessary, student IDs can be obtained or updated at the police station on 1019 S. Baxter Ave, or the Rogers Student Center substation.
There are six different routes, with the closest to TJC being the Campus Connector route that stops at TJC Main Campus, UT Tyler and TJC West. The Campus Connector bus runs Monday through Friday from 6:05 a.m. to 8 p.m. More information on the transit route and schedule can be found on the City of Tyler website.
