The 100th face off of the Apaches vs TVCC cardinals ended in a Trinity Valley defeat of 14-7 in overtime thanks to an overtime pass completion by the Apaches and a strong defensive performance.
In the second quarter, Trinity Valley led 7-0 thanks to a player’s 6-yard touchdown run.
The Cardinals bounce off three defenders and end up in the hands of wide receiver Grant Peretz, who kept control as he went down in overtime, despite the offense’s lackluster play for the majority of the game. Tre Guerra, the quarterback, completed a throw.
During the half time show the Tyler High School’s got together to have a “Game Day Experience”, an opportunity for High School students to perform with the Apache Band, Belles, and Touch of Gold.
In the fourth quarter, Tyler’s score was increased when Thomas converted an end-around from 48 yards out. With 12:40 remaining in the game, Baxter scored a touchdown, and the score was tied 7-7.
The next home game will be at the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium going head to head with New Mexico Military Institue on Oct. 05 at 3:00 P.M.
